Suitable materials: iron ore, copper ore, gold ore and other metal minerals; also quartz, fluorite and similarly non-metal minerals. This Centre thickener is intended for solid-liquid separation in mining processing units. It is mainly deployed for concentrate thickening, tailings treatment and recycling of the process water.
Pulps settle by gravity, being aided by flocculants, and a mechanical rake.
The solid particles get deposited fast enough to form an over-density underflow. The clear water is taken off the top which, as a result, increases the plant's use of recycled water.
In addition to having a slow rate of settlement of materials, older thickeners tend to create dirty overflow water and solids that block the machine and may even completely bring it to a halt. Chemical and water expenses rise dramatically when density is unstable, in which case the limitation on the total quantity of product the plant is producing will inevitably follow.
The redesigned and highly effective Cone thickener brings to you an optimized feed area as well as a highly effective settling zone. Along with the anti-rake-pressure system and automated control, settlement will be faster, underflow density will remain constant, more water will be recovered, and the total need for maintenance will decrease.

The original thickener at the site had low underflow density and unstable separation results, which slowed downstream production.

Can the SNZ thickener solve unstable underflow density and rake-pressure problems?
Yes. It uses an improved rake structure and anti-rake-pressure protection. This reduces the load caused by mud build-up and keeps underflow discharge more stable.
Does the thickener need continuous chemical addition?
Flocculant dosage should be adjusted according to slurry type, density and particle characteristics. Using the right amount improves settling and keeps operating costs under control.
