MBS rod mill – a practical Chinese mill for coarse grinding and sand making

This equipment is built for coarse grinding and manufactured sand production. It delivers even particle size and helps cut down over-grinding.

Feed size: 0-50 mm Capacity: 5-180 t/h Suitable materials: quartz, iron ore, copper ore, gold ore, cement clinker, pyrrhotite, hematite, limonite and similar rocks.

The MBS rod mill is a drum-type grinding machine that uses steel rods as the grinding media. Compared with a traditional ball mill, the rods make line contact with the material. This gives a more selective crushing action and works better for coarse grinding, pre-concentration, or any process that needs tighter control of particle size distribution.

It is widely used in mineral processing plants, manufactured sand lines, building materials, and metal ore processing.

Feeding material directly into a ball mill is a common mistake. It leads to severe over-grinding, structural damage of minerals and a big variation in the size of the resulting particles. This is a major issue that causes downstream processes to work harder.

Product highlights

The Rod mill uses the line contact between steel rods to break larger particles first. Finer particles can leave the mill sooner, which reduces the chance of over-grinding.

The way the rods sit inside creates a relatively stable grinding space. As a result, the discharge size stays more even and fewer coarse and fine particles get mixed together.

This Mining Rod Mill is designed for the coarse grinding stage. It can accept larger feed sizes and prepares a steady stream of material for later ball milling, magnetic separation, flotation or other steps.
