Equipped with automatic control system for real‑time monitoring and flexible parameter adjustment for continuous large‑scale mining operations.

MZS Sag Mill – Large-Scale Mining Grinding Solution Reduces steel ball consumption and simplifies the grinding process.

Feed size: 0–400 mm Handling capacity: configured according to process conditions Suitable materials: iron ore, copper ore, gold ore and other metal ores, as well as materials used in building materials and refractory industries

The‍‌‍‍‌ MZS semi-autogenous mill is a type of a semi self-grinding ball mill with grinding efficiency that exploits the ore itself as the leading media of grinding. As the drum runs, huge pieces of ore get crushed and ground within the machine via impact and abrasion without the need to supplement with huge quantity of balls of steel as the main grinding means. This type of equipment is particularly appropriate for extensive continuous mining jobs and enables simpler crushing and grinding circuit by reducing the need for media.

When to Choose a Sag Mill?

Not every large mine is suitable for an autogenous or semi-autogenous process. These machines usually show clear advantages when the mine has the following characteristics:

Large ore throughput that requires long continuous operation.

Relatively coarse feed size and a desire to reduce the number of crushing stages.

Ore with good self-grinding properties.

A goal to lower steel ball consumption and simplify the process flow.

Today, the Chinese sag mill and semi-autogenous mill are widely used in large iron ore, copper ore and gold ore projects.

How It Works

The MZS sag mill mainly consists of a rotating drum, drive system, lubrication system and control system.

When the machine runs, the drum keeps turning:

Ore is lifted to the upper part of the drum.

Large pieces fall under gravity and break by impact.

Medium and small particles grind against each other.

Material that reaches the required size leaves through the discharge end.

The whole process does not rely on external grinding media for the main size-reduction work.

Feature Focus

The Sag mill is capable of accepting raw ore up to 300–400 mm and thereby cuts down on a number of stages of crushing required in the traditional setup.

The Sag mill relies primarily on impact of ore in itself to carry out size reduction, so steel balls required are only few. This leads to significant saving in the cost of purchase, replacement, and handling of grinding media.

The machine operates with the support of an automatic control system which continuously surveil the running of the equipment and enables the operators to change the parameters of the Sag mill according to their need, thereby making the daily process much smoother.

By using relatively large ore a single grinding stage can handle crushing and grinding, which is a perfect configuration for high-capacity mining operations.

Tailor-made Grind System

Different mines produce ore with varying hardness, moisture content and particle size. Sanland prepares a grinding system design solution based on each mine’s ore parameters, the volume of process and the grinding level desired as well as site characteristics.

We help customers by delivering a detailed analysis of the feasibility of the proposed grinding system. Our range of services includes not only equipment specification and grinding flow configuration but also planning and layout for the automatic controls, and the supporting equipment.

To make a selection for a grinding system that will exactly correspond to their plant operation and production level, the customers are given all necessary technical and operational details.

Advice for Operation and Servicing

To ensure reliable performance and long-time service:

Carry out periodic inspection of the drum liner wear and replace if necessary.

Make sure that lubrication system is working normally and closely watch oil temperature and pressure levels.

Maintain condition checks on both motor and electrical control system.

Operating above the designed load level or feed fluctuation should be avoided.

Following these tips helps reduce unexpected stoppages and extend the life of the machinery.

Automatic Control and Safety Protection

The MZS semi-autogenous mill can be fitted with a PLC automatic control system that monitors and adjusts running parameters.

When the system detects abnormal load or tramp metal, the protection system reduces the risk of impact damage. A hydraulic protection device releases abnormal pressure so that uncrushable material can be discharged quickly, protecting the machine from damage.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between an autogenous mill and a semi-autogenous mill? A: An autogenous mill mainly relies on the ore itself for grinding. A semi-autogenous mill (SAG Mill) adds a certain proportion of steel balls to help improve capacity and grinding performance.

Q: How does the tramp-metal protection system work? A: When the system detects abnormal load, the hydraulic protection device releases pressure, adjusts the support structure and enlarges the discharge space so that uncrushable material can leave the machine, reducing the risk of damage.

Q: What certifications does the company hold? A: The company holds ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certification, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certification, multiple AAA-level enterprise credit certifications, invention patents and intellectual property certificates. Additional certifications can be provided according to market requirements.

The MZS sag mill, Sag mill, Chinese sag mill, MZS semi-autogenous mill and Semi-autogenous mill range gives large mines a practical way to simplify the grinding process, cut steel ball consumption and keep continuous production running more smoothly.
